A new workout idea in Salzburg is inspired by a future image of 1980s electronica.
King Kong Club, a fitness club in Salzburg, Austria, has debuted its design, created by Valencia-based firm Masquespacio.
Masquespacio realized the 1980s techno and cyberpunk vision of founder Max Schirnhofer after being hired to design a new kind of fitness experience. “Clients feel like they are entering a gym club from the future when they enter,” says Christophe Penasse, co-founder and manager of Masquespacio. They have a cyberpunk vibe when they enter the training studios, which unquestionably provides them a highly energizing result.
Four distinct fitness spaces make up King Kong Club: LIFT strength training, RUSH bootcamp-style HIIT, BAGS for boxing, and FLOW for yoga.
When guests arrive, a variety of seating and plants are welcomed by pots created from recycled air conditioning pipes. A bleached backdrop and pastel blue notes contrast with the metal accents and gray tones, emphasizing the futuristic vibe. The intense darkness of the training grounds and neon lights heighten a special intensity.
